Discovering Love and Paradise: Our Unforgettable Honeymoon in Goa

“Keep calm and go on a honeymoon!” 😜

Now, the big question – Why Goa? Well, it’s a rather lengthy tale, but who’s counting, right? 😁💃

Over the past 3-4 years, we’ve embarked on numerous journeys, but this one, in particular, holds a special place in our hearts. Why, you ask? Well, you probably already know by now. Yes, this was our honeymoon trip, a celebration of love and togetherness. 💕

The Journey: Our adventure commenced as we hopped on an Indian Railways train that whisked us away to Karmali station—a leisurely 9-hour journey. We could probably write an entire post about our train escapades, but let’s save that for another day, shall we? Huh!!

From the station, it was approximately a 50-kilometer ride to our idyllic resort.

As soon as we arrived, the irresistible allure of the beach beckoned us. We followed a small unpaved road that meandered past the resort.

First Impression: The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow over the ocean. The beach lay almost deserted, surprisingly pristine. Soft, powdery sand cradled our feet, while the ocean’s gentle caress washed ashore. In the distance, the majestic low hills of the Western Ghats completed this perfect tableau.

Location: Mobor Beach, a vast expanse of coastline that stretches all the way to Betul Beach. Our favorite pastime? Strolling along the beach as the sun dipped below the horizon, gradually giving way to the night. Standing at the edge of the wet sand, with each wave lapping at our feet, we spent the entirety of our 4-5-day holiday, basking in the sun’s embrace. The beach shacks generously provided sunbeds for their patrons, making our days even more delightful. 🍹

Riverside Rendezvous: As you continue your walk to the southernmost end of Betul Beach, you’ll discover a tranquil spot where the Sal River meets the Arabian Sea. From one perspective, it appears as a serene bay with a road on the opposite bank. This place is an oasis of calm, perfect for unwinding and doing absolutely nothing.

Useful Tips:

• As vegans, we didn’t indulge in the offerings of the beach shacks, aside from a couple of refreshing drinks. Nearby restaurants serve delectable food, often providing great value for your money.
• To explore Goa’s beauty, we rented a bike from a local dealer. Just gas up, don your helmet, and you’re all set for an adventurous ride.
• For Instagram-worthy moments, explore the nearby fishing villages and the ruins of ancient forts.
• If you’ve ever contemplated getting a tattoo, there’s no shortage of tattoo studios in the vicinity.
• Consider embarking on a dolphin-watching tour with one of the many tour operators. The excursion takes you from the river to the open sea, offering a chance to spot these magnificent creatures.
